
Kelly Chase
Kelly Chase is an Alaskan grown dancer, choreographer, digital artist, and filmmaker. Kelly is currently a San Francisco based artist in the Alonzo King LINES Training Program. She received her BFA in Dance from Florida State University. While in college, Kelly danced as a company member with the Tallahassee Ballet under Artistic Director Tyrone Brooks. Kelly has premiered work representing Florida State University at the ACDA Southeast Adjudicated Conference, at Florida State University’s Days of Dance concert, at the Center for Performance Research in Brooklyn, NY, and with the Anchorage Festival of Music’s concert Baroque Reflections. Kelly is a 2023 Alumni of The School at Jacob’s Pillow, and also a recipient of the Professional Advancement Award from The School at Jacob’s Pillow in 2023. She has performed works by Ronald K. Brown, George Balanchine, Jennifer Archibald, Christopher Huggins, Amy J. Gardner, Donna Uchizono, and Ilana Goldman. She has additional training from Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and SpringboardX.
Kelly has directed, choreographed, shot, edited, and designed projections for her film through shadows, which won Best Experimental Film at Best Istanbul Film Festival, was a Finalist at the Student World Impact Film Festival (SWIFF), and has additionally screened at Stockholm City Film Festival.
Access to dance education in Alaska is very important to Kelly, and she works in guest artist outreach with Alaska Dance Theatre, and additionally teaches and choreographs for them. She has choreographed for YAGP and NUVO Dance Convention, where her pieces have won first place and DJ’s Pick awards.
